Helene Updates

Thank you for visiting Liquid Design Paint and Collision. We have been privileged to serve the Swannanoa and surrounding communities for 2 years at our current location. On Friday September 27th, Hurricane Helene ravaged our mountains and left more damage and heartache than we can describe. Our shop was not spared from the destruction. The building is still in tact and we have been working tirelessly to come back. It is important to mention the volunteers that poured in from all over the country; they have been incredible. With their help and our own determination, we will re-open our doors. We are currently taking in projects. Please call, email, or stop by for an estimate.

Our Story

The night before the storm hit we (Derek and his family) were advised to evacuate our home in McDowell County. We had considered staying in the office (camper in the back parking lot) because it would be a safe place. Ultimately, we chose to go home. We had no idea what was about to happen. Other than losing all utilities for weeks, our home was not damaged and we are thankful. However, the one message we received on Friday would be something we would not be able to understand. We were told that his mother's home, just down from the shop, was flooded. We were trapped in our home due to flooded rivers and hundreds of downed trees. We could not get out and there was no signal. Old Fort mountain was closed. Any back road to Swannanoa was gone. For days we were left to our imaginations about what happened to the place we still called home. A family friend called and left a message that we were able to retrieve; he didn't say much, but his voice spoke volumes. We finally got to Swannanoa after several days and could not believe anything we saw. We knew we had to be strong; our family depended on that. Once roads opened up, volunteers came pouring in. Thankful is an understatement. We would not have made the progress needed without these incredible people. While we still have a ways to go, there is a light at the end of the tunnel. Our goal is to re-open our doors right after the new year! If you feel inclined to donate, we have a go fund me with the link below. We would love to have your business. Please, call or email to schedule your project! Our Swannanoa community is resilient and we are grateful to continue servicing this beautiful place.
